This provides admission to the TWO-PART Wednesday, August 19th & 26th, 2026 "Mahjong 101 For Beginners" Class at Jesse Brown's Outdoors. Taught by a Certified Instructor. For those who know little to nothing about Mahjong.
Mahjong 101 is the perfect session for true beginners! In this class, you’ll gain an understanding of mahjong, including the basics of tile recognition, game setup, and play strategies - all taught by an expert. Learn the Charleston and how to play a complete game in confidence.
If you've not taken a class before or you have not been formally taught by a longtime Mahjong player and Certified Instructor, this is a great introduction!
Here’s what you can expect:

Materials Provided: tiles, cards, racks, mats, etc.

Focused Instruction: learn the essential rules and mechanics of the game.

Guided Play: practice your skills with guided rounds.
This TWO-CLASS session is designed to get you excited about playing mahjong - a new game which you will surely be obsessed! Tickets will go FAST.
- CLASS #1 - Wednesday, August 19th @ 6PM (introduction to the game and guided play)
- CLASS #2 - Wednesday, August 26th @ 6PM (review of prior work, Q&A, continued play) Participants are recommended to bring a National Mahjong League card for this Session. Details provided in Session 1.
